I am bound to change the title sometime. I just need one to submit.....
After the good advice from one of my friend's, who said he was getting bored of some of my latest sketches, I decided that I had become lazy and needed to spend more time on an artwork. This drawing returns me to my roots. It is also rather large by my standards (40x70cm I think).
I don't usually give descriptions of my drawing but I'll throw some phrases out there.
Firstly: I admire Peter Paul Rubens. I was able to see many of his paintings at the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. Rubens had a gorgeous wife, Isabella. The face in the left is derived from "Rubens and Isabella Brant in the Honeysuckle Pergola.
Mostly: Trying to grab a hold of that which is always imagined in an attempt to make it real.
* Taken in poor light conditions.
I thought I would take some closer photos for detail:
this is fantastic murray. although i enjoy the more lighthearted work this has an astounding quality, and duely more emmotive than anything churned out. like the concept, the look in her eye, and of course; the boots.
